Al Ain insist Emmanuel Emenike, 28, did not do enough to prove his worth to them, hence they decided to send the former Super Eagles striker packing on Wednesday. Emenike will now return to Fenerbahce, Turkey, where he was loaned from, less than a year ago.
Al Ain board member, Mohammed Hamdoun, said: “I saw Emenike in the World Cup and the Africa Cup of Nations with Nigeria and he was a good player. But when he came here he scored only 7 (league) goals, with the local players we have here? Enough.”
This is no doubt a story of grace to grass to the former Super Eagles star who recently quit International football
