Atlético Madrid have issued a statement on their website in which they have expressed their disagreement with their FIFA transfer ban.
The Calderón club said it does not agree "with the football world governing body's ruling and is studying the documentation received in order to prepare an appeal".
The statement read:
"Atlético Madrid have received the FIFA Disciplinary Committee's ruling which bans us from registering any players at national and international level for the next two complete and consecutive registration periods and fines us 900,000 Swiss francs (approximately 820,000 euros). According to the documentation received from football's world governing body, the ban is for breaching articles 5, 9, 19 and 19bis as well as annexes 2 and 3 of the Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players.
Our club does not agree with the ruling and will study all the documentation received in order to appeal against said ban".
