Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane urges to sue FIFA

La Liga president Javier Tebas said he believes Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane should sue FIFA for putting the names of his sons on the list of banned players named in this month’s FIFA sanction dealt to the club for alleged use of underage players.

Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid have been banned from registering new players in the next two transfer windows, FIFA announced last Thursday.
FIFA’s disciplinary committee said the two clubs “violated several provisions concerning the international transfer and first registration” of players under 18 years of age.
“Zidane should sue FIFA to protect his sons,” Tebas told Libertad Digital on Thursday. “FIFA is preventing those two boys from developing their careers properly.”
“The sanction is very harmful to the league. I can’t understand how a club that gives so much coverage to principles, studies as well as the teaching of the sport to children, which is something the club really likes to do, can be sanctioned for it. The rule must be changed.”

Real Madrid said they never used foreign underage players without registering them with the Spanish federation, as claimed by FIFA, nor signed them without complying with the required procedures.
The club added that they have always informed the local federation about all the players on their youth academy, another alleged breach of regulations by the club, according to FIFA.
