It was feared that the Barcelona star had picked up a hamstring injury during the 6-0 win over Athletic Club but the latest tests reveal it was only a knock.
The five times Ballon d'Or winners has however been ruled out of Wednesday Copa Del Rey clash against the same opponent as a precaution.
Athletic Bilbao and Barcelona will engage in a two legged match to determine who progress to the Semi Final of the Spanish Cup.
