Rafael Nadal is OUT of the Australia Open in the first round - he lost to Fernando Verdasco by 7-6(6), 4-6, 3-6, 7-6(4), 6-2, after 4 hours and 41 minutes out on court.

Djokovic outclasses Nadal

Novak Djokovic has won the Qatar Open after thrashing Rafael Nadal 6-1, 6-2 in the final.

The ATP world number one needed just one hour and 13 minutes out on court to seal his most emphatic victory over Nadal. The win saw Djokovic move ahead of the Spaniard for the very first time in terms of head-to-heads: 24 wins to 23.

Rafael Nadal admitted that Novak Djokovic is impossible to beat when he is playing the way he did in the final in Doha.

"No-one has ever played like that. The only thing you can do is applaud and congratulate him", said Nadal after he was blown away by Djokovic, losing 6-1, 6-2.

"There are some things I can do better, but the reality is that it's probably impossible to beat him on that form", added the Spaniard, who suffered his worst defeat to the Serb in 47 encounters.

Nadal stressed that he is more concerned with what he himself does rather than the tennis produced by the number one. "If you're only focusing on one person, you're not going to be happy. Obsessions are bad things in life. The only way forward is the path I set myself. If you get frustrated because someone is better than you, that's stupid and arrogant. If he's better, you accept it and work on improving", he finished by saying.

Coric Named In Forbes’ 30 Under 30 Sports List | ATP World Tour

Borna Coric has been named in Forbes’ 30 Under 30 sports list for 2016. The fifth annual list also includes golfer Jordan Spieth.

The 19-year-old Croatian was the youngest player in the 2015 year-end Top 50 in the Emirates ATP Rankings.

Achieving a career-high of No. 33 in July 2015, Coric reached two ATP World Tour semi-finals last year at Dubai and Nice, plus three quarter-final runs. He was named ATP Star of Tomorrow Presented by Emirates in November 2014.

Forbes Magazine also looked back on its All-Star Alumni, listing World No. 1 Novak Djokovic – who was recognised in 2012 – for his achievements last year.

The Serbian has finished year-end No. 1 in four of the past five years. In 2015, he won a career-high 11 titles, including three Grand Slams and a fifth Barclays ATP World Tour Finals crown.

Djokovic Starts 2016 with a Win in Doha opener

Novak Djokovic, winner of 27 of his last 28 matches, is so much better than most people that it makes no difference to him to have been nearly two months without playing competitively.

The Serb's return to official competition in Doha, after winning his fifth World Tour Finals title in November, was marked with a double 6-2 win against Dustin Brown.

The 31-year-old German, Brown, who rose to fame during last year's Wimbledon where he beat Rafael Nadal in the second round, was putty in the hands of the world number one, who is on a run of 15 consecutive finals on the ATP tour since going out early exactly a year ago in the Gulf.

Rafael Nadal Wins Third Abu Dhabi Title

Rafa Nadal today won the Mubadala World Tennis Championship for the third time after overcoming Milos Raonic 7-6(2), 6-3.

This latest exhibition tournament victory sees Nadal clinch a lucrative title which was won by Scotland's Andy Murray last year.

This is Nadal's first Mubadala win since winning back-to-back titles in 2010 and 2011, and with it the 29-year-old has brought himself level on titles with Novak Djokovic, as the two prepare to open their seasons next week.

Nadal, who was well aware that he would have few opportunities to break Raonic's serve, was presented with an opportunity in the fifth game. The man from the Balearic Islands didn't make the most of the opportunity and a tie break followed. It was from this point onwards when Nadal started to control proceedings, outperforming his ATP 14th-ranked opponent, who is known to struggle when the pressure mounts. The game swung firmly in Nadal's favour in the fourth game of the second set as he broke the Canadian's serve.

In the third place playoff, Spaniard David Ferrer came back strongly to beat Stan Wawrinka 6-7, 6-4, 10-8.

Nadal beats Ferrer in first Tennis Tournament of 2016

Rafael Nadal sealed his place in the final at the Mubadala World Tennis Championship with a 6-3, 6-7(4), 6-3 win over David Ferrer, after two hours and 23 minutes out of court.

Despite it being an exhibition tournament aimed at preparing for the ATP Tour, Nadal and Ferrer both brought their A game and left it all out on the court as if they were actually playing for a title.

Nadal, who, since the last Asian tour has been working on his footwork in order to improve how he strikes the ball, was on much better form than at the beginning of 2015 when he first lost to Andy Murray in Abu Dhabi and then Michael Berrer in Doha.

Nadal with face Milos Raonic in Saturday's final after the Canadian beat Switzerland's Stan Wawrinka 7-5, 7-5 in the other semi-final.

Steph Curry and Serena Williams were two of the most talked about sport personalities this year.

And again, they are making the news and making black people all over the world super proud.

The NBA star and Tennis Star have both been names the AP (Associated Press) Athlete of the year male and female respectively.

This is the first time the handsome Steph Curry is grabbing this title but it is definitely not the first for the great Serena. Serena Williams is grabbing this for the fourth year, the last time being in 2013.

This has however been an amazing year for both athletes and it says a whole lot about their 2016.
