Arsenal Target Ighalo


Arsenal may be going for Watford striker and Nigeria international in this summer transfer move to fortify their front.

Following their failure to sign the new African footballer of the year Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, the Club’s scouts have put their search light on Ighalo who has scored 14 premiership goal since his debut this season.

AFC Bournemouth Confirm Benik Afobe Deal




AFC Bournemouth have confirmed the signing of striker Benik Afobe from Wolverhampton Wanderers FC for an undisclosed fee on a four-&-a-half-year deal.

He netted 23 times in 48 appearances for championship side.

This is the second deal in the January transfer window by AFC Bournemouth.

Juan Iturbe joined on loan from AS Roma January 2 with an option to make deal permanent.

In an interview with L’Equipe, the 26 year old Ghanaian forward Andre Ayew condemned the decision of CAF on making Gabonese star, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang  the African Footballer of the year few hours after Manchester City star Yaya Toure also criticized Pierre’s emergence..
Andre who is the son of Ghanaian legend, Abedi Pele said he expected either himself or Yaya to have won the award having played in the final of the last AFCON..
He said in the interview:
‘I think that playing the final game of the African cup of nations should be considered. I played this game and so did Yaya. I thought that the winner will be one of us..
However, I think that the Africans should consider their competitions before choosing the winner. To be honest, I think that the winner should have been me or Yaya.’
Andre’s Father Abedi Pele won the award in 1992 which was the last time a Ghanaian footballer did so..

Arsene Wenger Hails 'Visionary' Iwobi

Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, has hailed the performance of his young Nigerian forward, Alex Iwobi, in the Gunners 3 – 1 triumph over Sunderland in Saturday’s FA Cup clash.

The teenager impressed in his first start at the Emirates Stadium and was involved in the equalizer netted by Joel Campbell in the first half.

Monaco Reject Radamel Falcao

Chelsea Striker Radamel Falcao looks set to stay at Stamford Bridge for the rest of the season after Monaco ruled out the possibility of him making a return to the club.

Monaco Vice-President Vadim Vasilyev said in an interview on the club's DailyMotion page:

"Falcao is currently injured. He has six to eight weeks to go like that"

"We have decided not to take him back to Monaco for the moment"
